SPEEDY A1
-
The SPEEDY A1 is also known as the "multi-tool among rigid frame wheelchairs", since the frame offers a wide range of options, accessories and special constructions in terms of the user weight and height.
The SPEEDY A1's frame geometry and wheel connection are designed for extreme loads. Thanks to individual frame dimensions, the wheelchair can be ideally adapted and converted for persons weighing up to 300 kg or for persons that are 2 m tall or more. The SPEEDY A1 can also be combined with traction devices, handbikes and wheelchair drives.
Many settings can also be made retroactively: The tipping point, seat heights or seat angle can be adapted to the user’s needs at a later time.

Ideal for extreme loads
In its particularly sturdy heavy-duty version, the SPEEDY A1 is suitable for loads of 120 kg to 300 kg.
Adapters let you connect strong traction devices and adaptive bikes in just a few steps, while the exceptional stability of the frame ensures optimal handling of the combination. Optionally, the extended wheel plate can be used to implement a wheelbase extension for even better traction. Compatibility with wheelchair drives like e-fix, e-motion or Twion, for example, can also be provided upon request.
The SPEEDY A1 is crash-tested. Transport restraint systems for wheelchairs in motor vehicles are available as optional extras, as are crash-tested headrests.
Option: One-hand drive
For users with hemiplegia or other restrictions affecting one side of their body, a highly manoeuvrable one-hand drive with a double handrim can be installed up to a wheel camber of 12° (1°, 4°, 6°, 10° or 12°). Different handrim materials, external diameters and distances to the rim meet a wide range of requirements. The drive wheels can be removed using a floating axle for simple handling.
The one-hand drive can be combined with the 'One-handed knee lever brake'. When the brake is activated on one side, a Bowden cable moves the brake pins on both sides.

Simple transport
Folding down the backrest and the ease with which assemblies can be removed without tools allow for a small pack size. With a total weight starting from 10.2 kg, the SPEEDY A1 counts among the lightweights in its load class.
Various back systems
The backrest can be folded and adjusted at seven different angles (without tools), offering flexible seat positions. It is particularly helpful when using adaptive bikes and traction devices, as the ability to adjust the backrest angle forward (perpendicular to the ground) is very useful to compensate for the raised caster wheels. This backrest is available as a lightweight adaptable back with back padding (belt system for optimal adjustment of slack and padded lumbar support) or as a sturdy back shell (very sturdy with fixed slack and adjustable lumbar support).
The ERGO Back backrest bar is also available as an option in addition to the adjustable back and the back shell. This backrest bar relieves the strain on your back by allowing you to lean back, and adds an attractive visual touch. The recessed gripping areas mean that you do not need any push handles, and also prevent unwelcome pushing by others.

Range of seat systems
A range of seat systems is available for the SPEEDY A1. The ‘open belt system’ seat cover lets users adjust the pressure distribution using belts. The ‘body contour’ seat cover provides a cushioning effect, absorbing impacts and helping prevent pressure ulcers. It is highly breathable and sturdy (the material is double-stitched to counteract the ‘hammock’ effect). You can also select seat plates as a sturdy seat system with no slack.
Wide selection of options, accessories and special constructions
Each SPEEDY A1 is a customised model, with frame dimensions and equipment that are always tailored to the wheelchair user’s needs. You can choose from a wide range of equipment for the SPEEDY A1, including footrests, brakes, push handles, back and seat systems, clothing guards, armrests, as well as drive and caster wheels.
