NEW: "PURE" equipment package

Discover the new equipment package "PURE" for the TRAVELER 4you Ergo! With this equipment package, an extra light total wheelchair weight from 10 kg is possible, which sets new standards in terms of lightness.

The new equipment package contains a variety of innovative and specially weight-optimised features:

• Carbon side panel with integrated clothes guard | The clothes guard and side panel are individually manufactured from one piece, with optimal cold insulation and good stability.
• Adaptable backrest and back cushion "light" | The thin cushion not only saves weight, but also makes it possible to fold the wheelchair even more space-saving.

• Integral parking brake
• Continuous foot bar with the rounded footrest without protrusion | Lightweight footrest design with rounded ends and corners; without protrusion to the front to reduce the overall wheelchair length by 30mm and to facilitate vehicle loading.

Physiologically optimised seating and special individual frame design options

The ergonomic seat fold gives a stable and comfortable seat position.

In addition, the frame is perfectly tailored to the user with the choice of 12 frame parameters. The frame stem can include a frame retraction. A frame retraction means that the upper frame tubes taper towards the front when looking at the frame from above (from a bird’s eye perspective). This enables the user to keep their thighs closer together and also looks better. Frame stems are available in G-shape or V-shape versions for optimal lower leg guidance or in individual lower leg widths. 

The front frame tubes are relatively short so that footrests can be folded back even with short lower leg lengths. 

The knee angle can be individually selected.

By far the smallest pack size starting at 17 x 35 x 58 cm

At the smallest possible pack size, the TRAVELER 4you Ergo even fits into a sports bag. What is more, when travelling by plane, you can even transport this mini-wheelchair as hand luggage.
All loading options are available: 

• Folded with folded-down backrest
• Detached with folded-down backrest and drive wheels like a rigid-frame wheelchair or remaining on the wheelchair
• As hand luggage in a sports bag: folded, removed caster wheels, drive wheels, footbar and folded-down backrest

The ability to load and unload the wheelchair for transport by car, the result of the small pack size and the low overall weight, starting from 11.2 kg (loading weight from 7.7 kg), offers independence. The TRAVELER 4you Ergo is compatible with most car loading systems and fits into even the smallest of boots. 

A slight fold adds flexibility when passing through narrow spaces

Automatic partial folding reduces the seat width of the TRAVELER 4you Ergo when the user is in the wheelchair by about 15% (roughly 5 – 10 cm) to pass through narrow spaces. This option is often used to access toilets, overnight accommodations when travelling as well as everyday situations in professional or leisure settings. After passing through the narrow section, the folding mechanism is locked again in just one step. 

Option: Integral parking brake

The new, attractive integral parking brake is convenient to use. When the brake is off, it is swivelled completely underneath the frame so that more space is created for finger and hand movement. The brake is installed so that it is barely visible under the frame, highlighting the wheelchair’s slender design.

Sturdy frame and torsion-resistant folding mechanism for maximum mobility and compatibility

The frame is rated for loads of up to 120 kg. The locking S-struts that fold horizontally make the folding mechanism extremely torsion-resistant by design. This allows it to approach the handling characteristics of a rigid-frame wheelchair.

Adapters let you connect traction devices and adaptive bikes in just a few steps, while the sturdy frame and torsion-resistant folding mechanism ensure optimal handling of the combination. The optional removable wheelbase extension offers even better traction when it is needed. This wheelbase extension adds very little weight to the wheelchair and is easy to attach to the wheelchair without any tools as required.

Compatibility with wheelchair drives like e-fix, e-motion or Twion, for example, can also be provided upon request.

The TRAVELER 4you Ergo is crash-tested. Transport restraint systems for wheelchairs in motor vehicles are available as optional extras, as are crash-tested headrests.

Various back systems

The backrest can be folded and adjusted at seven different angles (without tools), offering flexible seat positions. It is particularly helpful when using adaptive bikes and traction devices, as the ability to adjust the backrest angle forward (perpendicular to the ground) is very useful to compensate for the raised caster wheels. This backrest is available as a lightweight adaptable back with back padding (belt system for optimal adjustment of slack and padded lumbar support) or as a sturdy back shell (very sturdy with fixed slack and adjustable lumbar support). The back shell can be removed using quick-lock systems to allow the TRAVELER 4you Ergo to be folded. 

The back cross bar stabilises the backrest and absorbs lateral impacts. It simply folds up when the wheelchair is folded.

Range of seat systems

For the TRAVELER 4you Ergo, you can choose between the seat cover systems ‘Open belt system’ and ‘Closed belt system’ as the seat system. These seat systems offer pressure distribution that can be adjusted via belts.

Each TRAVELER 4you Ergo is a customised model, with frame dimensions and equipment that are always tailored to the wheelchair user’s needs.
